What is your name? What grade/year are you currently in, and how long have you attended the school?
My name is Gleb Kokorin. I am in 11th grade, and this is my third year at Cushing Academy.
Which preparatory school did you attend, and what influenced your decision?
Hockey was the biggest factor in my decision to attend Cushing Academy.
Describe a typical in-season day.
Classes ran from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. After school, we usually had practice at 4:00 p.m. or a game. From Monday through Thursday, we also had study hall from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
How does your routine change in the off-season?
During the off-season, I had more time to train independently unless I played another sport. After classes, I usually had most evenings free.
How did you balance athletics and academics?
Everything at Cushing is organized, so I used my time efficiently and avoided wasting time.
Professional goals and prep school impact?
Living on my own taught me independence and showed me what I am capable of accomplishing.
Advice to future prep students?
Work and learn every day. If you want to achieve your goals and dreams, consistency matters.
